Life in kirkland is not only for Adults and kids but it is also for seniors. There is a large community senior center that provides opportunities for seniors to have healthy and rewarding lives for them and for others as well.

To achieve the goal of promoting wellness of body, mind and spirit the center offers a wide variety of activities and services. This drop-in facility offers the opportunity for fun, friendship and socialization in a warm and friendly atmosphere. On any given day or evening you will see people participation in activities such as:

arts & crafts classes
lifelong learning classes
fun special events
intergenerational programs
van trips & charter tours
Also provided are:
health, legal & financial services
nutritional lunch Monday - Friday
Meals on Wheels delivered to homebound

Life in kirkland- Marina Park

The Kirkland Marina Park Dock is a year-round marina which offers 77 uncovered moorage slips, picnic tables, restrooms and easy access to downtown Kirkland.

You can bring your personal boat, there is a limited number of parking spaces that are available for boat trailers with a vehicle attached at Heritage Park located on the corner of Market Street and Waverly Way.
Besides parking, there is also another important thing for boats: moorage. A moorage is also available, with no reservations, " First come first serve"is the only option :).

Of course there is a fee for this service, and the following table shows the Overnight Moorage Fees (up to date):

0 to 20’ $7 per night
21’ to 30’ $8 per night
31’ to 34’ $12 per night
35’ to 40’ $15 per night
41’ to 50’ $18 per night
51’ and over $25 per night

The maximum stay allowance is 72 hours in a seven day period (stay for three days, leave for seven, and come on back). For more information, call (425) 587-3347.

Kirkland city lies on the northeastern shores of Lake Washington, a stone’s throw from Seattle over the I-520 Evergreen Point floating bridge. No other city has as many waterfront parks on this lake as Kirkland. And it has the only down right on the lake. Tree-lined boulevards, a low-rise downtown, lanes of boutique shops and restaurants, intriguing outdoor sculptures, many positioned for public interaction, and people engaging in all kinds of recreation, give Kirkland a feeling of being permanently on vacation.

Today, visitors from throughout the world including me are discovering what makes Kirkland a place of history, nature and metro 'lifestying'.
Kirkland's waterfront have a panoramic views of the lake, from where you can see Seattle skyline and Olympic Mountains that lie beyond.

The city's of kirkland have much envied park system includes several swimming beaches, a working pioneer nursery, hikable woodlands, walkable wetlands, marinas for boating and sightseeing excursions, crisply groomed all-American ball parks, and many other public sports courts and facilities.

Kirkland is also home to the Seattle Seahawks training fields and headquarters, and the Junior Softball World Series inspires many youngsters who are fun to watch at competitive play. Kids soccer is big, and the Kirkland Kodiaks amateur baseball team is wildly popular.
